On Friday, Achraf Hakimi delivered a spectacular hat‑trick, helping a rotated side of Paris Saint- Germain to a 5‑1 win over struggling Le Havre in the French Ligue 1. The result extended PSG’s lead to four points at the summit after nine matches.
What were the key moments? Le Havre opened the scoring in the 18th minute when striker Josh Maja capitalised on a defensive lapse. Six minutes later, Mika Godts, the Belgian winger, latched onto a through‑ball from Hakimi to equalise. Hakimi then broke free, firing a low finish two minutes after the restart to put PSG ahead 2‑1.
How did the hat‑trick develop? The Moroccan full‑back added a powerful free‑kick that curled past goalkeeper Arnaud Bodard, making it 3‑1. Shortly after the hour mark, PSG’s Senny Mayulu exploited a high line, dribbling past the stunned keeper and slotting a long‑range strike to seal a 5‑1 rout.
When did Hakimi finish his scoring? His third goal arrived in the 69th minute after he threaded a shot through a crowded penalty area. He celebrated briefly before being substituted by coach Luis Enrique, who opted to rest the star for the remaining fixtures.
Why does the result matter? PSG’s nearest rivals Rennes fell 5‑2 to Nice, allowing the champions to widen the gap to four points. Lille and Monaco can still close the distance if they win their upcoming games against Lens and Paris FC respectively.
Who was missing? Luis Enrique left several regulars—Desire Doué, Vitinha and João Neves—on the bench, while Ousmane Dembélé and Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were sidelined through injury.
Overall, Hakimi’s three‑goal haul not only showcased his attacking prowess but also underscored PSG’s depth, as the team comfortably managed a fixture with numerous changes while maintaining pressure on the Ligue 1 title race.
