Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has asserted that the persistent internal issues within most opposition parties clearly indicate their lack of preparation for national leadership. Professor Yilwatda made these remarks in Abuja while discussing critical matters concerning the nation's social, political, and economic management.
He highlighted that any political entity incapable of managing its internal affairs, resolving internal disagreements, enforcing discipline, or building internal consensus cannot be entrusted with the complex responsibility of governing a diverse federation like Nigeria.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Mr. Abimbola Tooki, the APC Chairman noted that the continuous implosions, internal disputes, legal challenges, ego conflicts, and perceived 'ideological emptiness' characteristic of many opposition parties are not merely political setbacks but serve as serious warnings of underlying structural weaknesses and managerial deficiencies.
He stressed the potential danger and political irresponsibility of allowing political actors who have repeatedly demonstrated an inability to maintain order within their own organizations to take control of the country's future.
“A party that cannot govern itself is unfit to govern Nigeria. If a political platform is perpetually caught in self-inflicted crises, consumed by internal sabotage, and weakened by poor management, it has no legitimate claim to ask Nigerians for the mandate to lead this nation,” he stated.
The APC National Chairman urged the Nigerian populace to be astute in distinguishing between mere rhetoric and actual capability, between propaganda and preparedness, and between opportunism and authentic leadership.
