The All Progressives Congress in Taraba State announced it will mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 elections, while the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, promotes a separate Rainbow Coalition.

The [All Progressives Congress](https://apc.com.ng/) (APC) in Taraba State has pledged to mobilise voters for President [Bola Tinubu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bola_Tinubu) and other party candidates in the 2027 general elections.

State APC chairman Abubakar Bawa delivered the assurance on Saturday in Jalingo during the inauguration of the Taraba chapter of the PBAT Door‑to‑Door Movement, a grassroots campaign aimed at supporting Tinubu’s re‑election.

The declaration arrives amid differing strategies among Tinubu’s supporters, notably the Rainbow Coalition championed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, [Nyesom Wike](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyesom_Wike).

Wike has stated that the coalition’s primary purpose is to galvanise backing for Tinubu’s second term, while maintaining that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains free to field candidates for governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly contests.

Bawa expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects in Taraba and affirmed that the party would deploy its structures to secure victories for its candidates at all levels in 2027.

He added that the grassroots mobilisation exercise will carry the party’s message directly to households and communities across the state.

The campaign group intends to reach residents through door‑to‑door engagements as well as mobilisation in churches, mosques and local government areas.

Also speaking at the event, Danladi Baido, Director‑General of the Tinubu‑Shettima campaign organisation in Taraba, said the APC would build on its performance in the 2023 presidential election and expected to generate substantial support for Tinubu in 2027.

The founder and convener of the PBAT Door‑to‑Door Movement, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, urged Taraba residents to back Tinubu for a second term, arguing that the administration’s reforms need time to produce lasting results and that continuity would help consolidate policies.

Ekpemupolo linked Tinubu’s re‑election to Governor [Agbu Kefas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agbu_Kefas)’s development agenda, noting that another presidential term would allow the governor to continue implementing his programmes.

Governor Kefas, who supported the mobilisation drive, told the gathering that residents are already witnessing the impact of the Tinubu administration through federal projects and programmes in the state, adding that they are advancing the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the president.

He assured the audience that his administration would continue to execute and commission development projects throughout Taraba.

Adekanbi Asuku, national coordinator of the movement, said the organisation was in Taraba to mobilise support for both Tinubu and Governor Kefas, urging members to take the campaign to homes, religious centres, wards and local government areas as the 2027 elections approach.

Asuku also attributed the improved security in Taraba to the efforts of APC‑led administrations and called for continued support for the party.
