Controversial Nigerian relationship commentator Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has publicly broken down in tears, offering a heartfelt apology to Nigerians and asking for forgiveness regarding her previous utterances and conduct. The public figure made this appeal through an emotional video shared on her official Instagram handle, during which she described herself as utterly exhausted, broken, and confused.
In the emotional address, she confessed to speaking recklessly about hardships she had never personally endured, acknowledging that she now fully comprehends the weight of her utterances. Expressing deep remorse, she noted that words are inexpensive while actions carry heavy consequences, adding that she is currently paying the price for her errors.
What led to the public apology?
Blessing CEO released the tearful video on her Instagram page on November 3, 2026, revealing that her mind felt numb and that she was struggling to find clarity amid overwhelming distress. She invited the public to mock her if it would help her learn, while maintaining that she is only human and prone to faults.
"I am so sorry. Why are you looking at me? What do u want me to do, tell me because I am confused, my brain is so numb, the only thing I see is darkness, everywhere just blur for my eyes," she stated in the post.
She continued, “Go ahead and mock me, yes throw my own words and mistake to my face maybe I would learn that way. Is this not hard enough, where everything no longer makes sense. I am sorry, I am so so sorry, for speaking about the pains I have never felt carelessly. I am sorry, so sorry because I am realizing that talk is cheap but action is loud. I am only human, with blood flowing through my veins so I am bound to make mistakes, mistakes have a price and that is what I am paying for now. With my tears. I am so broken to the point that I am loosing myself. Pray for me because I am exhausted from praying by myself."
Returning like the prodigal child
Comparing her current state to the biblical prodigal son, the self-acclaimed relationship expert stated that she was returning home without shame to seek reconciliation with those she had offended. She extended her apologies to both supporters and critics alike, noting that she can now personally feel the agony of the people she once ridiculed.
She also reflected on her late son, whom she affectionately called Dum dum, promising to make amends and live in a manner that would make him proud in heaven. She mentioned that his brother, grandmother, best friend Amara, and father all miss him dearly.
This development comes amidst growing conversations surrounding social media accountability and public commentary standards within the Nigerian digital space. Observers have noted an increasing trend of influencers revisiting their past online conduct following intense public backlash or personal crises.
