CDCFIB tells shortlisted applicants to check online portal from Oct 28 for recruitment status

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board announced that candidates who have cleared the oral interview can view their recruitment outcome on a portal opening on 28 October and closing on 13 November. Applicants must also undergo a compulsory NDLEA drug test before receiving appointment letters.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has instructed all candidates who progressed to the oral interview stage of its current recruitment drive to log onto an online portal starting 28 October, which will remain active until 13 November, to verify their selection status and obtain further instructions.

The board’s Secretary, Retired Major‑General Abdulmalik Jibrin, revealed the schedule after a meeting on Thursday, 22 October 2026. He explained that the portal will be accessible for a two‑week window to allow candidates to view results, generate a unique code, and then present themselves at the nearest state office of the [National Drug Law Enforcement Agency](https://ndlea.gov.ng) for a mandatory drug screening.

**What does the portal provide?**

The system will display each applicant’s outcome, issue a verification code, and guide them to the appropriate NDLEA location for testing. Only after a clean drug‑test certificate is submitted will candidates be invited to Abuja to collect their official letters of appointment.

**Why is a drug test required?**

The requirement follows a Federal Government directive that every newly appointed civil servant must furnish a certificate confirming they are free from illegal drug use. This policy aims to ensure integrity across all security‑related services.

**Who oversees the recruitment?**

The board is responsible for staffing the [Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria_Security_and_Civil_Defence_Corps), the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Federal Fire Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service. The latest portal opening comes after several months of delays that had stalled the hiring process.

Jibrin emphasized, “Candidates who have reached the oral interview stage should check the portal between 28 October and 13 November, obtain their code, attend the NDLEA drug test in their state, and then proceed to Abuja with a clearance certificate before collecting their appointment letters.”

Applicants are urged to monitor the portal closely, adhere to the testing schedule, and ensure they possess the required drug‑free certification to avoid further postponements in receiving their employment documents.
