David Anthony Burke, popularly known as D4vd, has surfaced as a suspect in the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, according to reports. This information comes to light from newly disclosed court documents from Texas, where D4vd resides.

As reported by ABC News, these documents label him as a 'target' in connection with a range of alleged criminal activities. They underscore that petitions have been filed to summon his parents to testify before a grand jury in Los Angeles.

The official paperwork states that 'the target may have committed criminal offenses, including one count of murder.' It further notes that the target might hold relevance concerning the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, suggesting the possibility of foul play in her demise.

Rivas's remains were shockingly discovered late last year inside a Tesla belonging to D4vd, which was found parked in a Hollywood towing lot. Authorities revealed that her dismembered body was located in two separate bags within the vehicle's front storage compartment.

D4vd's family is currently challenged with a court order requiring them to testify in Los Angeles. Their attorney expressed concerns to ABC News, claiming that their rights to due process are being compromised.

The last sighting of Rivas was reported during the spring of 2024, when she left home to watch a movie with D4vd and did not return. Her body was found on September 8.

The Los Angeles Police Department is pursuing the investigation into her suspicious death and has categorized D4vd as a 'person of interest'; however, no formal charges have been brought against him at this stage.

Grand jury proceedings related to the case began in the fall and have remained closed to the public. Recent court filings, accessed by the Los Angeles Times, indicated that D4vd's family was instructed to appear before the grand jury to provide testimony.

D4vd's parents, Dawud and Colleen, along with his brother Caleb, have received subpoenas for their testimonies. They have since filed three petitions in a Texas appeals court, contesting the legality of the orders, asserting that the redacted affidavits hinder their understanding of their role as crucial witnesses.

The family's lawyers argue that without access to the complete affidavits, they are unable to comprehend why they are being implicated as material witnesses in this investigation.
