United States President Donald Trump has shared his admiration for American hip-hop artist Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, commonly known as Nicki Minaj, describing her as 'so beautiful'.
During a celebration for Black History Month held in Washington, the 79-year- old president complimented the 43-year-old rapper’s looks, a statement that rapidly went viral across various social media platforms.
A video clip of the occasion showed Trump addressing the attendees: 'What about Nicki Minaj? Do we love Nicki Minaj? I love Nicki Minaj. She visited not long ago. She is incredibly beautiful, her skin is radiant. I remarked to her, 'Nikki, you’re so beautiful.' And have you seen her nails? They're so long!'
He continued with a playful anecdote from their recent interactions. 'I asked, Nikki, are they real? She was coy about that, but she really is beautiful and impressive. And she gets it, which is the most important thing,' Trump added.
The president stated that he noticed Minaj’s striking appearance during her prior visit to the White House in the last few weeks.
Trump's remarks were made shortly after Nicki Minaj celebrated Presidents' Day by sharing images that showcased her budding relationship with the president.
These pictures were uploaded to her X account with the caption: 'Happy President’s Day.'
Reports indicate that the rapper also made an appearance at the Trump- supported World Liberty Forum on Wednesday, where she spoke as a keynote speaker on a panel titled 'Owning the Culture: The Business of Music in a Creator-Led Economy.'
Prior to this, Minaj had met with Trump in January during the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., where she expressed her admiration for him, calling herself the 'president’s No. 1 fan.'
