Jourdan Blue, a 24-year-old singer famed for his time on America's Got Talent, was apprehended in Louisiana on Saturday. His arrest involved multiple charges, chief among them the suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
In addition to the DWI charge, he was cited for operating a vehicle on a suspended license, possessing an open container, and careless driving. According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, he has since been released.
Known as the "Bourbon Street Soul Singer," Blue rose to fame on America's Got Talent, where he secured third place in the show's 20th season. He became a fan favorite after receiving a Golden Buzzer from judge Howie Mandel for his performance of “Breakeven” by The Script. His popularity soared further on TikTok, amassing over 864,000 followers and more than 3.4 million likes.
Throughout various interviews, Blue has candidly discussed his battle with substance abuse, including a phase of homelessness and a near-fatal overdose. He attributes part of his growth to his livestreaming performances on TikTok, which he says helped him hone his skills and build confidence while engaging with his audience.
As a father to a son named Jax, Blue asserts that his experiences have motivated him to demonstrate to his child that resilience and creativity can yield positive outcomes, even during challenging times.
Daily Mail has reached out to both Blue and local authorities for additional comments on this incident.
