The Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), Dr. Abdullahi Baba-Ahmed, asserted that the current road development initiatives in Kaduna State will significantly bolster the chances of Governor Uba Sani's re- election in 2027.

Elected in 2023, Governor Sani is poised to run for a second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC). During a meeting with a youth group, Baba- Ahmed remarked that the urban-rural renewal efforts of the administration have provided tangible benefits to the population across the state.

He indicated that the execution of over 140 road projects covering approximately 1,335 kilometres within three years is a remarkable achievement, not just for Kaduna but across the northern region of Nigeria.

Baba-Ahmed reported that over 60% of these projects are now completed, confirming that the remaining works will be finalized before the end of the current administration’s term.

He emphasized that all areas have benefitted from these projects, noting that some rural communities are experiencing government investment in infrastructure for the first time in decades.

"Currently, over 140 road projects spanning about 1,335 kilometres are underway throughout Kaduna State, with 60% already finalized," he stated.

He elaborated that under Governor Sani, strategic road corridors have been developed to reconnect communities and foster economic growth. "Throughout the three senatorial districts of Kaduna State, key road corridors have been conceived, started, carried out, and completed. These roads are facilitating transportation, enhancing local commerce, and reconnecting communities that faced accessibility issues in the past," he added.

Baba-Ahmed highlighted the significance of the Gadar Gayan–Gwaraji–Maraban Kujama asphalt road, a landmark project that features a 130-metre bridge across River Kaduna and traverses 76 farming communities. He described it as a crucial legacy that addresses longstanding needs of the local populace.

The MD revealed that this project was completed within two years of Governor Sani taking office, noting that many of the beneficiary communities had never previously seen even a one-kilometre road development. "Upon assuming office, around 12 local government areas had not encountered a completed one-kilometre road project. Governor Sani broke this trend by authorizing and finishing projects such as the Gadar Gayan to Kujama road, which links Igabi and other communities, including 76 farming settlements," he explained.

He further stated that the positive reactions from residents signal robust public endorsement of the administration. "The feedback regarding these significant, high-quality, and enduring projects has been overwhelmingly supportive. The citizens of Kaduna State will reciprocate by overwhelmingly re-electing Governor Uba Sani in 2027," he asserted.

Some of the roads that have been completed include the Magajiya–Amaru–Unguwan Liman Road, Audi–Kako Road, Tudun Biri Road, Durum–Kuruntumawa Road, Pambegua–Kauru Road, Gadan Gayan–Kujama Junction Road, and the Madauchi–Madakiya–Kafanchan Road.

Others are the Gadan Gayan–Kujama Junction Road via Gwaraji, alongside the Durum–Kuruntumawa asphalt road in Makarfi, as well as the Magajiya–Kasuwan Amaru and Audi–Kako asphalt roads in Zaria.

Abdullahi Umar, the convener of the KADA Agenda, who spoke on behalf of the youth group, praised the KADRA management for overseeing the timely and quality execution of these projects, affirming the agency’s commitment to quality control.

"With the level of projects executed, we are assured of victory in 2027,” he stated.
