On Saturday, the Kano State police confirmed that Hamza Durya, who serves as the secretary of the Kibiya Local Government Area, was kidnapped from his residence in Durya village.
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during a telephone interview that the command’s anti-kidnap unit, alongside the area commander and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), have been mobilized for efforts to ensure the victim's safe return.
Bakori stated that immediate actions are being undertaken to recover the kidnapped official as swiftly as possible.
He further urged community members, particularly those in rural areas, to provide credible information that could assist in the process of deploying rescue teams effectively.
