On Sunday, 4 October, law enforcement in [Ogun State](https://ogunstate.gov.ng) arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a six‑year‑old girl in the Odo Pako area of Akeja.
According to police statements, the suspect, who practices Islam, had gone to a local mosque to perform prayers. After completing his worship, he is alleged to have approached the child and committed the assault before being confronted.
Security officers intervened, detained the individual, stripped him of his belongings and transferred him to the [Nigeria Police Force](https://www.npf.gov.ng) for further investigation.
