The Nigeria Customs Service has repaired a damaged section of Ijokodo Road in Ibadan, Oyo State, as part of its community development efforts to improve road accessibility for motorists and residents.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Oyo/Osun Area Command, has restored a deteriorated stretch of Ijokodo Road in Ibadan, Oyo State, as part of the Command's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The work was carried out under the leadership of the Acting Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, together with members of the Command's Management Team, officers and men, according to a statement released on Saturday by the Public Relations Officer, Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola.

The personnel involved in the exercise actively participated in repairing the damaged portion of the road to provide relief to motorists, residents and other road users who regularly use the route. The statement noted that the intervention was designed to complement government efforts aimed at improving community infrastructure and enhancing the welfare of residents.

The Command further stated that the initiative reflects the Service's broader understanding that its responsibilities extend beyond revenue generation and anti-smuggling operations to include meaningful contributions to the development of host communities. In reaffirming its commitment to public welfare, the Service underscored its dedication to initiatives that strengthen community relations and contribute to socio-economic development in the area.

The rehabilitation of Ijokodo Road is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve mobility for daily commuters traversing the popular arterial route in Ibadan.
