The Nigeria Democratic Congress announced that its Presidential Campaign Council will be inaugurated on 20 October in Abuja, marking a key step in its preparation for the 2027 general elections. Party chairman Sen. Moses Cleopas outlined the planned structure and upcoming activities.

The [Nigeria Democratic Congress](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria_Democratic_Congress) said its [Presidential Campaign Council](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_campaign_council) will be formally inaugurated on 20 October in Abuja, as part of the party’s groundwork for the 2027 general elections, National Chairman Senator Moses Cleopas announced at a news conference.

Cleopas stated that the council’s framework was drafted by the [National Working Committee](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Working_Committee) and shared with the party’s presidential and vice‑presidential candidates for feedback. He emphasized that the consultation aims to align key appointments with the experience and expectations of the candidates who will steer the campaign.

Key positions under review include Director‑General, Deputy Director‑General, Finance Director, Director of Mobilisation and spokesperson. The chairman said the party is taking deliberate time to fill these roles to prevent internal disputes that could derail the campaign.

"We are not against the Obidient Movement. We recognise its relevance, we need it, we value it and we regard its members as our friends," Cleopas told reporters, adding that support groups such as the OK Movement and the Obidient Movement are welcome provided they operate within constitutionally recognised party structures.

Cleopas urged Nigerians to stay vigilant after casting their ballots, stressing the importance of confirming that votes are correctly recorded and counted.
