A [Medical physicist](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_physics) and [Imam](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imam), Farouk Alrem Al‑Egbaawiy of Ogun State, has presented a set of guidelines concerning polygynous unions.
He stated that polygyny may serve as a pathway to draw nearer to Allah, provided it is observed with sincere piety.
Al‑Egbaawiy added that when one wife contracts an infection, a physician should prescribe medication for all the wives and also for the husband.
