Inter Lagos interim coach Olusanjo Olutayo voiced his displeasure with his team's display following their hard-fought 1-1 draw against Ranchers Bees in a matchday 11 encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos State.
Quyum Akinpelu and Oscar Gabriel were the goalscorers for their respective sides during Sunday's fixture. Following the conclusion of the match, Olutayo candidly admitted that the visiting team outplayed his squad throughout the ninety minutes.
Speaking to Sporting Theory, the interim manager stated that Ranchers Bees proved superior on the pitch. "All things being equal, Ranchers Bees should have beaten us, they created more chances than us and they pressed higher than us," Olutayo remarked.
Why did Inter Lagos struggle?
Olutayo pointed out that his squad failed to execute the tactical blueprint they had practiced during training sessions ahead of the fixture. He noted that the players could not recollect key instructions during the heat of the game, leading to a disjointed performance.
What is next for the team?
Looking ahead, the young tactician assured supporters that the technical crew will immediately address the observed shortcomings and lapses. Inter Lagos aims to rectify these issues before their upcoming league fixture against Ikorodu City.
