**Who are the suspects?**
Wakili Nurudeen (Alowonle) and Olayemi Ojo (Sibi) formerly headed the NURTW in Osun. The police say they orchestrated the attack by mobilising NURTW members Waliu Adejare, chairman of Aregbe Park, Osogbo, and Hammed Dauda, the park’s secretary, as well as four personnel from the state security outfit Amotekun.
**What did the police say?**
“I hereby declare Wakili Nurudeen, aka Alowonle, and Olayemi Ojo, alias Sibi, wanted in connection with the murder. The police will continue to work in collaboration with sister agencies to unravel the circumstances surrounding Emir’s murder,” Commissioner Zungura told journalists at the command headquarters in Osogbo.

One of the detained Amotekun members, Sijuade Moruf, told reporters that Alowonle had ordered his team to travel to Ile‑Ifẹ on the day of the killing. “We were mobilised by Alowonle to go to Ile‑Ifẹ. He said we would meet at the park, but on getting to the park, we did not meet him. While we were waiting, some guys came in with guns. A few minutes later, the guys started shooting and we ran for safety before our vehicle had an accident on the road,” Moruf recounted.
