Equity holders in PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, a prominent manufacturer of household commodities and personal care goods, have officially endorsed a final dividend distribution totaling N9.926 billion for the 2026 financial year. This decision was reached during the firm's 78th Annual General Meeting (AGM) convened at Fraser Suites in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
Addressing the assembly of investors, the Chairperson of the board, Mrs Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, disclosed that participating investors would get a final dividend rate of N2.50k for every ordinary share of 50k held. Furthermore, the board chairperson revealed the introduction of a Scrip Dividend Scheme, which gives eligible stakeholders the option to acquire newly issued ordinary shares rather than taking their dividend payouts in cash. She highlighted that the enterprise has exhibited remarkable operational recovery and fortified its financial standing through a thoroughly restructured balance sheet.
"Our performance is improving year-on-year, and we will continue to leverage our strategic operating model and a more stable macroeconomic environment to drive growth and create value for all stakeholders," Mrs Omoigui Okauru stated.
What did shareholders say about the financial results?
Investors at the gathering lauded the corporate leadership for delivering strong returns despite the hurdles characterizing the Nigerian operating landscape. Chief Peter Essien, Chairman of the Viewpoint Shareholders Association based in Uyo, praised the executive team for steering the enterprise successfully, pointing to notable gains in both turnover and profitability for the period ending May 31, 2026.
Echoing similar sentiments, Hon Pat Ajudua, who leads the New Dimension Shareholders Association, commended the management for prudent financial stewardship and the aggressive reduction of corporate debt. This strategy notably shifted the company's financial position from a negative equity value of -N17.3 billion to a positive equity of +N66.6 billion.
When will the dividend be disbursed?
During deliberations regarding the Scrip Dividend arrangement, investors formally moved to adjust the election cutoff window from November 23, 2026, to November 4, 2026. It was subsequently confirmed that the N2.50k final dividend would be credited to accounts on November 6, 2026.
Concluding the session, the board chair reiterated that the manufacturing firm remains firmly dedicated to sustainable expansion and long-term value creation. This commitment follows the successful wrap-up of the overarching Strategic Review concerning African operations, which culminated in the parent company's resolution to maintain its Nigerian subsidiary as an integral pillar of the global group.
