Risevest, a digital investment platform, said that Nigeria’s economy has shifted noticeably over the last two years, with the exchange rate steadier, the benchmark interest rate falling and the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) posting robust growth. In response, the firm announced fresh ways for Nigerians to access a broader range of investment options.
At a Lagos‑based event titled “The Ascent,” Risevest revealed plans to roll out three mutual funds on its mobile app and to introduce Rise Business, a solution that equips companies with multi‑currency money‑management tools.
**What mutual funds are being introduced?**
Product Manager Ebube Ilo explained that the new funds are built around three financial objectives – growth, liquidity and income. The Risevest Naira Equity Fund will be actively managed, investing in a diversified basket of top‑listed Nigerian firms across six sectors, aiming to beat the NGX 30 index. The Risevest Dollar Fund will hold a professionally managed portfolio of low‑risk, dollar‑denominated assets such as government and corporate eurobonds, deliberately avoiding equities. The Risevest Money Market Fund will focus on short‑term, low‑risk instruments like treasury bills, fixed deposits, commercial papers and certificates of deposit, offering easy access to capital while generating interest.
**Why was Rise Business created?**
Product Manager Solomon Olalemi said the service emerged after years of client queries about extending the platform’s benefits to businesses. “When can my business do the same?” he quoted entrepreneurs asking.
Rise Business will give companies four separate accounts in their registered names, denominated in US dollars, British pounds, euros and naira, each with unique details for verification by overseas partners. Users will be able to remit payments to over 60 countries, receive funds via account numbers, and convert among major currencies—including the Canadian dollar and Chinese yuan—through a single interface. The offering targets importers, exporters, SMEs, agencies and consultancies that regularly move money across borders.
Overall, Risevest’s new products aim to align with Nigeria’s improving macro‑economic backdrop, providing both individual investors and businesses with diversified, accessible financial solutions.
