[Nigeria Football Federation](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria_Football_Federation) (NFF) confirmed that a minimum of seven [Super Eagles](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria_national_football_team) squad members will be unavailable for Tuesday’s international friendly with Russia, citing injuries, clubs refusing release and administrative hurdles over residence permits.
The trimmed list includes captain [Wilfred Ndidi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilfred_Ndidi), Raphael Onyedika, Moses Usor, Akpe Victory, Bright Osayi‑Samuel, Ridwan Abdulrasaq Popoola and Suleiman Mubarak.
The federation’s official bulletin noted that Ndidi suffered a knock in the recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifier versus Guinea‑Bissau.
To compensate, the technical team summoned Vince Osuji as a replacement for the injured Akpe Victory and added Reims midfielder John Otomewo to the roster to cover Ndidi’s absence.
In addition, several European and regional clubs have declined to release their players. Raphael Onyedika (Eintracht Frankfurt), Bright Osayi‑Samuel (Birmingham City), Ridwan Abdulrasaq Popoola (Al‑Wasl) and Moses Usor (LASK) were all held back by their clubs, narrowing the coaching staff’s tactical choices ahead of the high‑profile encounter in Russia.
