Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has confirmed that the Taraba State Polytechnic will permanently move its entire operations from Jalingo to the Suntai campus situated within the Bali Local Government Council by the 2027 academic year.
This crucial development was made public on a Saturday as the state chief executive toured the current facilities at the Jalingo campus. The administration intends to unify all educational departments and administrative functions under one roof in Suntai.
At present, the tertiary institution maintains a dual-campus system, dividing its programs and student body between Jalingo and Suntai. Consolidating the infrastructure is anticipated to reshape the operational framework of the school significantly.
What is the history behind the relocation plan?
Historical records indicate that the idea to shift the institution to Suntai was first conceptualized during the tenure of the late former governor, Danbaba Suntai.
Governor Kefas noted that realizing the 2027 target requires meticulous collaboration between the state administration and the polytechnic leadership. Stakeholders must work closely to manage the logistics of the move effectively while safeguarding the academic calendar from unnecessary interruptions.
