A renter expressed amazement after learning that a dead body had been interred beneath the living‑room of the house he occupies.
He took to [X](https://x.com) to detail how the landlord’s relatives turned up and told him they intended to dig up their late family member’s remains that lay directly under his sitting area.
In his post he wrote, “I rented a house not knowing that someone had been buried inside the living room. Today the landlord’s family informed me they want to move their dead brother, who was also the landlord’s father. He was buried right in my living room and I only learned of it today. They said they will exhume the body, relocate it to a prepared site and then restore my sitting room. I am stunned to realise I have been sleeping above a burial spot for more than a year, even though the property is brand‑new and I am its first tenant.”
He added that he had just renewed the lease a month earlier and is uncertain about his next steps.
An update later noted that the [coffin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffin) was dug up on Sunday, 4 October, and the tenant shared an AI‑generated image depicting the excavation.
