Teyana Taylor Responds to Alleged Incident with Security at 2026 Oscars

Singer and actress Teyana Taylor has addressed an incident involving a security guard at the Academy Awards, where she allegedly faced a shove.

A video that circulated widely shows the 35-year-old visibly upset backstage after claiming that a man had made physical contact with her while she was trying to pass through a throng of people.

Speaking on the matter in a recent interview quoted by the Daily Mail, she somewhat minimized the event but emphasized her intolerance for disrespect.

"It’s all good… everybody’s having a good time, security was just doing a lot. There’s always that one," she remarked.

She further stated that she would not accept being disrespected, particularly when it is unnecessary.

Reports indicate that the confrontation occurred as she attempted to reach the stage area at the Dolby Theatre, the venue for the event.

In response, a security firm acknowledged that there was a brief interaction, describing it as incidental contact, and expressed regret over the escalation of the situation.

The Academy Awards organizers also released an apology, noting that they bear the responsibility for ensuring a positive experience for all attendees.
