The launch ceremony was held at Government Day Secondary School, Millennium Quarters, Gusau, where officials briefed teachers on the significance of professional registration and adherence to TRCN regulations.

Speaking at the event, Hajiya Ummu Yusuf Anka, Chairperson of the Zamfara State Teachers Service Board, stressed that professionalism is crucial for improving the quality of education in the state.

She added that a well‑trained, qualified and properly regulated teaching workforce is essential for sustainable advancement in the education sector.

In a statement signed by the board’s Information Officer, Abubakar Muhammad Tukur, Anka reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening education and creating an enabling environment for teachers to contribute to human‑capital development.

Anka urged any teacher who has not yet registered with TRCN to use the monitoring exercise to complete their registration and obtain a licence.

She described professional registration as a vital step toward enhancing accountability, professionalism and standards within the teaching profession.

TRCN state coordinator Nura Shiitu Moriki also addressed the gathering, highlighting that registration provides teachers with professional recognition and is linked to career progression, promotion and access to other opportunities.

Following the flag‑off, three monitoring teams were dispatched to the three senatorial zones to conduct sensitisation and compliance checks in selected schools.

The team covering the Central Senatorial Zone, led by Anka, visited several primary and secondary schools in Gusau, where teachers were sensitised on registration, licensing and compliance with TRCN regulations.

The exercise is expected to deepen collaboration between the TSB and TRCN while promoting professionalism, accountability and adherence to regulatory standards among educators.

The Teachers Service Board reiterated its call for teachers who have not yet regularised their TRCN registration and licensing to take advantage of the exercise to formalise their professional status.
