2027 Presidency: ADC Campaign Council Vows Uninterrupted Mobilization Despite Leadership Suit

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council has declared that its nationwide political activities for the 2027 elections will proceed without interruption. This assurance comes in the wake of a recent Federal High Court judgment and a subsequent legal appeal regarding the party's leadership structure.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council has announced that its nationwide campaign activities for the 2027 general elections will continue unabated, despite an ongoing leadership dispute following a recent Federal High Court ruling.

What is the current status of the ADC leadership dispute? Following an adverse judgment delivered on November 5 involving Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe and the party, the ADC campaign leadership has filed both an appeal and a formal application for a stay of execution. According to a statement issued on Friday by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was officially notified of these legal steps on November 6.

In response to the developments, the party has urged the electoral body to exercise caution and avoid taking any definitive steps regarding the party's leadership status while the judicial process is still ongoing.

What has the party told its supporters? Addressing the party faithful and the general public, Shaibu encouraged members to remain resolute and maintain faith in the democratic process, assuring them that the campaign machinery remains fully operational.

"To our members, supporters and Nigerians who believe in democracy: remain calm, steadfast and confident. This is not the end of the road. The ADC is taking every lawful step to defend its rights, and we will not be intimidated or distracted from that responsibility," Shaibu stated.

The council maintained that the internal disagreement will not derail its engagement with citizens or stall its political momentum ahead of the 2027 polls. Reaffirming the party's commitment to its core agenda, the campaign leadership stressed that it would continue pursuing legitimate avenues to protect its interests while pressing forward with its national outreach.
