Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and an early contender for the 2027 Adamawa State gubernatorial seat, is preparing to officially launch his comprehensive development plan titled “The A.D.A.M.A.W.A First Agenda.” This unveiling marks a significant step as he gears up to formally declare his candidacy for the governorship.
The agenda is slated for a formal presentation on Saturday, April 25th, at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Jimeta–Yola. The document is expected to detail Mr. Haske’s strategic vision for the state, encompassing economic advancement, effective governance, and social progress.
According to an official statement from his campaign team, the A.D.A.M.A.W.A First Agenda is conceptualized to build upon the existing socio-economic framework established by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration. It aims to introduce a governance model that is closely aligned with the needs of citizens, fostering inclusive and sustainable growth across Adamawa.
The policy blueprint is structured around seven fundamental pillars that define Mr. Haske’s proposed policy direction for Adamawa State. These pillars are: Agriculture and Agro-Industry; Development and Infrastructure; Access to Social Development; Meaningful Youth Inclusion; Accountable and Inclusive Governance; Wealth Creation and Economic Empowerment; and Assurance of Security.
In the agricultural sector, Mr. Haske's plan seeks to transform the industry into a primary engine for wealth generation. This will be achieved through advancements in mechanisation, developing robust value chains, promoting agro- processing, and expanding market access, with the ultimate goal of positioning Adamawa as a leading agro-industrial centre.
The infrastructure component of the agenda focuses on strategic investments in critical areas such as road networks, reliable water supply, enhanced energy access, improved digital connectivity, and environmental conservation. The aim is to bolster service delivery and ensure that communities are effectively linked to economic opportunities.
Regarding social development, the agenda prioritises equitable access to high- quality education and affordable healthcare services. A key emphasis will be placed on ensuring that essential services are accessible to all communities, irrespective of their geographical location or financial constraints.
Furthermore, the inclusion of youth is a central tenet of the agenda. Proposed policies aim to move beyond mere rhetoric by creating tangible opportunities through support for entrepreneurship, fostering innovation, driving job creation, and enhancing skills development for young people.
The pillar on governance underscores a commitment to transparency, accountability, and the fair distribution of resources. Concurrently, the framework for wealth creation is designed to attract investment, generate employment, and provide citizens with greater access to skills training and financial resources across all 21 local government areas of the state.
Security is identified as a cornerstone of sustainable development, and thus, will be a significant priority. The objective is to foster an environment conducive to safe agricultural practices, thriving commerce, and peaceful coexistence within communities.
Mr. Haske has articulated that his agenda represents a firm commitment to people-centred governance and inclusive development. He highlighted that Adamawa's most valuable resource is its populace, particularly its energetic youth.
Supporters point to Mr. Haske's prior engagements through the Haske Foundation as evidence of his dedication. This foundation has been instrumental in supporting educational initiatives, empowering young entrepreneurs and women, and providing aid to vulnerable populations throughout the state.
The forthcoming launch of the A.D.A.M.A.W.A First Agenda signifies the commencement of Mr. Haske's broader stakeholder engagement as the political landscape for the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State begins to take shape.
