Actress Aubrey Plaza is preparing to welcome her first child with her partner, Christopher Abbott. A source close to the couple confirmed that their baby is expected in the autumn, though the gender of the child has not yet been revealed.
This happy development arrives just over a year after Plaza experienced profound grief following the death of her husband, Jeff Baena.
Plaza and Abbott first collaborated in 2019 on the psychological drama film "Black Bear." According to an insider, the announcement of the pregnancy was a "beautiful surprise" for the pair.
"It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year," a source shared with People magazine, adding that they "feel very blessed."
The couple reunited professionally three years ago for the Off-Broadway production of John Patrick Shanley's play "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea," which concluded its run in January 2024.
Although their relationship has been kept largely private, Plaza and Abbott were observed together on Valentine's Day earlier this year, attending Khaite's Fall/Winter 2026 New York Fashion Week event.
It was previously reported that Aubrey and Jeff Baena had separated four months prior to his death.
