Social media personality Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO, has publicly apologized for the controversy that erupted from her claims of battling stage four cancer. She has also extended an offer to refund individuals who contributed financially to her treatment.
The public attention surrounding Blessing CEO's health situation intensified after she shared a medical report to substantiate her cancer diagnosis and solicited donations. However, the validity of the report was later questioned by Xinus Medical Diagnostics, which alleged that the document was altered and originally belonged to another patient. The situation was further complicated when the individual associated with the report came forward, leading to calls for an investigation from various groups, including the Nigerian Cancer Society.
In a statement posted on Instagram on Wednesday, Blessing CEO expressed remorse for the 'unnecessary drama, embarrassment, and controversy' and pledged to be more transparent with her medical information moving forward, while reiterating that her health condition is genuine.
"I am sorry for the unnecessary drama, embarrassment, and controversy surrounding my health issues. I sincerely apologise. Going forward, I promise to be transparent with all my medical reports, including my scans and biopsy results," she stated.
She further indicated her intention to share detailed medical updates throughout her treatment process. "Please be patient with me, as I will take you along on this journey, just like I did during my liposuction and BBL journey. I did not lie about my health issues. I will start by officially uploading my scan results and biopsy details and keep you all informed every step of the way."
Addressing her donors, the influencer expressed gratitude for their support and offered refunds to anyone who felt uncomfortable with the ongoing situation.
"Thank you so much for all the love and well wishes. To well-meaning Nigerians who contributed towards my health, I am deeply grateful and do not take your support for granted.
"To those who feel uncomfortable with the controversies, I am willing to offer refunds. Kindly send a WhatsApp message or DM with your receipt and account details, and you will be refunded."
In subsequent posts, Blessing CEO shared images of herself undergoing medical scans and images of her hand, explaining that it had been subjected to multiple punctures during treatment.
"My hands have been through a lot due to repeated punctures while trying to access my veins," she commented.
