A video capturing the lively reception of Pastor Chris Okafor back at Grace Nation church has gone viral, drawing substantial public attention.
Chris Okafor had stepped down temporarily from his pastoral duties following serious allegations made by actress Doris Ogala that surfaced shortly after his marriage.
Doris accused Okafor of having caused the breakdown of her marriage and entering into a romantic relationship with her, only to leave her to marry another person. She threatened to reveal further details about the pastor's actions.
She also claimed that Okafor was involved in various immoral and fetish practices.
In response, Chris Okafor publicly apologized to her from the pulpit and decided to take a temporary leave.
Today, February 1, he made his return to the church, weeks after the scandal unfolded.
Footage from his re-entry depicted church members warmly welcoming him with flowers and placards adorned with messages of support. One placard cheerfully declared, "The shepherd is home," while another expressed, "We love you always."
Further messages included sentiments like “Welcome home daddy” and “Your sheep await your blessings.”
As he approached the church building, a red carpet was rolled out to honor him, with ushers in uniform standing alongside as Chris and his new wife made a grand entrance into the church hall, flanked by enthusiastic congregants.
Once again on the pulpit, an officiating minister praised him and formally welcomed him back.
"We are back to do what God has ordained us to do," Chris announced as he took to the pulpit. He and his wife then engaged in a synchronized dance that delighted the congregation.
Worshippers were seen joyously dancing in celebration of his return to leadership within the church.
