Google Chrome has introduced an enhanced autofill that uses Gemini AI to fetch order numbers, flight details and tracking codes from a user’s Gmail. The feature is being rolled out to eligible U.S. users and can be switched off in Chrome settings.

Google’s Google Chrome browser now includes an “enhanced autofill” option that extracts information such as flight itineraries, order IDs and parcel tracking numbers straight from a user’s Gmail inbox, powered by the Gemini AI system. The rollout began in the United States on 28 October 2026 and is available on desktop, Android and iOS devices for users who meet the eligibility criteria.

Key details

Who can use Chrome enhanced autofill?

According to the official Chrome help page, the feature is offered to Chrome users in the United States who are at least 18 years old and have turned on Gemini Personal Intelligence. Those who have never activated Personal Intelligence will not see the Gemini‑powered suggestions, while regular autofill for names, addresses and saved payment methods continues unchanged.

What information does it read from Gmail?

Google states that the system can pull order numbers, tracking details, flight bookings and, as added on the help page, vehicle information. For example, when you begin typing a flight confirmation code on an airline’s check‑in page, Chrome will display the code in a dropdown beneath the input field, allowing you to select it with a single click. The suggestions are clearly marked with the Gemini icon and the “Suggested by Gemini” tag.

How to turn the feature on or off

On a computer

  1. Launch Chrome.
  2. Click the three‑dot More menu at the top‑right and choose Settings.
  3. Select Autofill and passwords.
  4. Under “Autofill settings,” click Enhanced autofill.
  5. Toggle Find and fill with Gemini on or off.

On Android

On iPhone or iPad

How to view the source of a suggestion or remove it

On a desktop, click inside the form field to reveal the suggestion list, hover over a Gemini entry, and click the link that appears to open the original email in Gmail on a new tab. To discard an unwanted suggestion, use the same menu and choose Remove from Chrome. On mobile devices, press and hold the Gemini chip that appears above the keyboard to access the source or removal options.

Should you keep it enabled?

The feature is handy for users who frequently book travel, monitor deliveries or manage online orders on a personal device, as it can shave seconds off repetitive form‑filling tasks. However, if you share a computer or Chrome profile with others, or prefer to keep email content out of third‑party sites, disabling the option may be prudent.

Overall, Chrome’s Gemini‑enhanced autofill represents another step in integrating Google’s AI capabilities across its product suite, offering convenience while giving users clear controls to manage privacy.
