A Nigerian woman identified as Christie has recounted a surprising experience from her wedding, stating that she and her husband were not on speaking terms on the very day he paid her bride price.
Christie shared on Facebook that a minor disagreement had led to them being angry with each other at the time. She mentioned that throughout the entire bride price payment ceremony, both she and her husband maintained silence.
According to her account, despite the lingering anger and unspoken doubts about the situation, they proceeded with the ceremony, with him paying the bride price and her agreeing to accompany him.
She testified that their relationship, which began on such a rocky note, has since become exceptionally strong, attributing their current success to divine guidance.
"When my husband came with his family to pay my bride price, we weren’t even talking. We had a little misunderstanding, and throughout the whole process, we just stayed quiet,” she wrote.
"Deep down, I kept asking myself questions: 'Is this truly the will of God?' 'Why is he still going ahead with this while we’re both upset?'
"He went ahead and paid, I agreed to go with him, yet we were still angry with each other."
Christie expressed gratitude for their journey, stating, "But look at us today… this can only be God. See how far the Lord has brought us. See how far He has kept us. See how far He has guided us on this journey."
She concluded by sharing their current state: "Today, we are stronger, still moving forward, supporting and helping each other."
Christie also offered a prayer for those seeking a life partner, wishing them success in finding the person God has destined for them.
