The Chairperson of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, Grace Ike, has reiterated her dedication to establishing trust, promoting professionalism, and enhancing credibility within the media landscape.
Ike shared these sentiments in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja, coinciding with the 2026 First Quarter Induction ceremony for new members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
According to NAN, Ike was among the 421 new members welcomed into the Institute.
"This occasion represents not merely a significant personal achievement but also connects my foundational influences in journalism with my new venture into the evolving field of public relations," Ike stated. "Effective communication serves as the foundation of society; it facilitates the development of trust, narrative transformation, and the advancement of positive change."
She expressed that her involvement in the Institute would enhance her commitment to strategic communication, particularly focusing on reputation management, image creation, and crisis intervention.
"I am privileged to join the Institute. I am confident that my contributions will aid in fostering trust and reshaping narratives. It is imperative we act as advocates for national credibility and integrity," she concluded. (NAN)
