Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the passing of content creator Ashlee Jenae, who died recently while on a trip to Zanzibar.

Zanzibar police have taken possession of the passport belonging to her fiancé, Joe McCann, and are conducting interviews with him as part of their probe. At present, McCann is considered a witness, and no arrests have been made.

Jenae had travelled to the East African island with McCann to commemorate her 31st birthday, an occasion where he proposed marriage. The trip took a tragic turn, however. Reports indicate that hotel staff separated the couple into different rooms on April 8, following an altercation.

McCann reportedly informed authorities that he discovered Jenae unresponsive the next day. She was subsequently transported to a hospital, where she passed away on April 10.

In an official statement, the police indicated that the incident is connected to the earlier dispute. Official documents state the immediate cause of death as cerebral hypoxia, resulting from strangulation and suffocation.

Jenae's family has voiced significant concerns regarding the events leading up to her death. They allege that McCann delayed notifying them for several hours and initially understated the gravity of the situation.

Furthermore, the family claims they have had no further communication from McCann since he informed them of Jenae's hospitalization. They are contemplating travelling to Tanzania to engage directly with the authorities as the investigation progresses.
