Access Bank has embarked on a new era with the appointment of Ifeyinwa Osime as its newly appointed Chairman.
The announcement was made public on February 2, 2026, indicating a significant leadership transition for the bank.
Ifeyinwa Osime has been associated with Access Bank since November 2019, where she served as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Prior to her promotion to Chairman, she played a vital role in the bank's governance by leading both the Board Human Resources and Sustainability Committee, as well as the Board Governance, Nomination, and Remuneration Committee.
Osime’s contributions have significantly impacted the development of policies concerning leadership and global sustainability within the bank.
A highly regarded legal practitioner, she brings a wealth of experience from both the private and public sectors. Presently, she holds the position of Partner at McPherson Legal Practitioners and serves as a Director at Ebudo Trust Limited. Her extensive board experience includes having previously chaired Coronation Life Insurance Company Ltd and acting as a Non-Executive Director at the former Bank PHB, which is now known as Keystone Bank.
In terms of her academic credentials, Osime is a graduate of the University of Benin and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987. She later pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Commercial and Corporate Law from the London School of Economics. To remain competitive in her field, she has also completed executive training programs at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, INSEAD, Stanford, and MIT.
Beyond her professional accolades, Ifeyinwa Osime is deeply involved in social initiatives. She is a member of the Women Corporate Directors (Nigeria Chapter) and actively participates on the Executive Committee of the Women Sectoral Group at the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria. Furthermore, she is dedicated to supporting the Autism and Developmental Delays Support Community and serves as a mentor to the youth, exemplifying a leadership style that integrates corporate success with community engagement.
