Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Kaduna State has received the go-ahead from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to introduce 18 new academic programmes. This approval allows the institution to offer these new courses alongside its current 42 programmes, marking a significant expansion of its academic offerings.
The green light came after the NBTE conducted a resource inspection and re- accreditation exercise at the polytechnic in January 2026. A formal letter confirming the approval was sent on February 20th, 2026, signed by Dr. Fatima Kabir Umar, Director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes, on behalf of the NBTE Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris Mohammed Bugaje.
This accreditation is considered a major milestone for the polytechnic, as stated by Abdullahi Ibrahim Shehu, who oversees Information and Protocol at the institution. The expanded programme offerings are expected to increase admission opportunities and enhance the delivery of technical and vocational education to a broader student base.
The polytechnic's management, under the leadership of Rector Engr. Dr. Mohammed Kabir Abdullahi, has demonstrated a commitment to upholding high standards in technical education. The newly approved programmes are designed to meet evolving industry demands and equip students with specialised knowledge and practical skills in fields crucial for national development.
