PDP Establishes Caretaker Committee for Shendam, New Chair for Wase LGA

The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formed a caretaker committee to manage affairs in Shendam Local Government Area and has appointed a new chairperson for Wase LGA. This decision aligns with the party's constitution as stated in an official announcement.

The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has instituted a caretaker committee responsible for overseeing the party's functions in Shendam Local Government Area.

Additionally, the party has replaced its chairperson in Wase Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Thursday and signed by Choji Felix, the publicity secretary of the state, the PDP indicated that the decision was made in compliance with Section 21 (2)(a–b) of the party's constitution (2025 as amended).

The newly formed nine-member caretaker committee for Shendam will be led by Sunday Niagwan, with Christopher Paizak appointed as the secretary.

Other members of the committee include Adam Khamis, Zemnaan Eptote, Manasseh Dagolong, Keneth Yilgwen, Patricia Batbut, Nanre Ayuba, and Moses Chindimma.

Furthermore, the PDP has appointed Yahaya Bala as the new chairperson for the Wase LGA.

The announcement stated that these appointments were sanctioned by the State Working Committee on behalf of the party’s state executive council.

The PDP expressed congratulations to the newly appointed officials and encouraged them to enhance the party's grassroots frameworks in their local government areas until substantive executives can be elected.

Moreover, the party emphasized that committee members are expected to fulfill their duties in accordance with the PDP constitution, the Electoral Act 2022, and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
