A male pedestrian suffered serious injuries after a woman fell from a rooftop in Melbourne's central business district, reportedly during a suspected suicide attempt.
The incident occurred on March 5 when the woman fell from the top of a 19-storey building and landed on the pedestrian, who was smoking a cigarette below.
Unfortunately, the woman was killed instantly upon impact, whereas the pedestrian was left with critical injuries.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, and the man was transported to the hospital, where he is said to remain in critical condition following the shocking event.
Neither the identities of the man nor the woman have been disclosed as authorities prepare a report for local coroners. The man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and police stated that the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are not considered suspicious.
