The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, in collaboration with Shelter Advisory Services Limited, is preparing to host the second edition of the 'Renewed Hope Housing Summit'. This summit aims to expedite large-scale housing delivery in Nigeria.
Scheduled for April 2026 at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, the event will feature Vice President Kashim Shettima as the headliner. The summit's theme is: 'From Policy to Projects: Financing and Delivering Housing at Scale through PPPs'.
According to a statement from the ministry, this summit serves as a high-level platform for policy discussions and negotiations concerning structured Public- Private Partnerships to facilitate housing delivery in Nigeria.
The goal is to bring together stakeholders, including federal and state policymakers, legislators, institutional investors, developers, and development partners. They will work on aligning policy frameworks with actionable housing projects.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in practical discussions about structuring, financing, and implementing workable housing PPPs. Special emphasis will be placed on project pipelines, financing mechanisms, risk- allocation frameworks, and successful delivery models that can be adapted nationwide.
This year's theme underscores the summit’s primary aim of linking well-defined policies with concrete, bankable housing projects.
"It acknowledges that Public–Private Partnerships (PPPs) present the optimal approach to mobilizing long-term funding, aligning public land and infrastructure with private sector expertise, thereby delivering the housing scale Nigeria critically needs,” the statement indicated.
The summit will feature Vice President Kashim Shettima as the Special Guest, while Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, will be the host. The Ministerial Address will be presented by Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development.
Additionally, notable figures such as Wale Edun, Minister of Finance; Senator Aminu Tambuwal, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Housing; and Abdulmumin Jibrin, Chairman of the House Committee on Housing, will present at the summit.
Elena Panaritis, founder of Thought4Action and an expert in property rights reform and housing development via PPPs, will deliver the keynote address at the summit.
A training workshop titled: 'Leveraging PPPs & Joint Ventures for Housing Development' will also take place, specifically for Heads of Housing Agencies, Project Management Institutions, and developers.
Other activities planned for the one-day summit include closed-door executive sessions, private discussions with the Minister of Housing and Urban Development and the Permanent Secretary, one-on-one strategic coaching sessions, and high-level discussions tailored for leaders in the housing industry.
In its essence, the summit aims to shift the focus from mere strategy to actual delivery, transforming policy clarity into investable projects that have a measurable impact on Nigerian cities and communities.
