Vice President Kashim Shettima has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State for his notable contributions to the development of the nation, describing him as a leader dedicated to unity and institutional advancement.

Shettima expressed these sentiments while standing in for President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration and oath-taking ceremony of Soludo and his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, for a second term in Awka, the capital of Anambra.

He portrayed Soludo as a leader of ideas and integrity who maintains a focus on national progress amid the existing political challenges.

"The policies set forth by President Bola Tinubu have greatly benefitted from the honesty, wisdom, and patriotic advice of this distinguished economist," Shettima remarked.

He further noted that Soludo’s approach to national matters—both in public forums and private discussions—demonstrates his allegiance to prioritizing national interests over partisan politics.

The Vice President highlighted that Soludo’s governing style exemplifies how leadership can unite individuals without fostering division and can encourage progress without inciting conflict.

“It is not surprising that the people have trusted him with another term; they are not just renewing a mandate but affirming a covenant with competence,” he remarked.

Additionally, Shettima underscored the significance of teamwork in governance, pointing out that the deputy governor plays a vital role in helping realize the vision into concrete advancements.

He also acknowledged that Soludo’s maturity and governance style have enhanced the relationship between Anambra and the federal government, paving the way for stability and growth.

The Vice President noted that under Soludo's stewardship, targeted efforts have been made to restore order, bolster security, and address crime in various parts of the state.

He expressed confidence that Soludo's subsequent term will be dedicated to consolidating past achievements and building upon the existing foundation.

In his inaugural address, Soludo reaffirmed his commitment to spearheading development across essential sectors such as health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure.

He expressed gratitude to the citizens of Anambra for their overwhelming support in the recent elections, emphasizing that the mandate represents a significant endorsement of his administration.

"The remarkable 73 percent voter turnout signifies a commitment to collaborating towards the revival of our homeland," Soludo stated.

The governor also promised to adopt an inclusive approach, outlining his vision of transforming Anambra into a significant economic powerhouse by 2030.

Dignitaries in attendance at the ceremony included former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku, former governor Chris Ngige, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, among others.
