A junior member of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Umuahia, Abia State, identified as Ikenna Onuoha, is believed to have committed suicide.
On March 25, 2026, local security operatives found Onuoha's body along a bush path in the Amaeke-Isiadu community, situated within the Umuahia North Local Government Area.
DSP Maureen Chinaka, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed the incident, noting that initial investigations suggested he may have taken his own life.
"There were no identifiable marks on his body. The remains have been taken to the morgue for preservation and an autopsy," stated the police public relations officer.
“Preliminary findings indicate that he suspectedly committed suicide. However, investigations are ongoing, and the public will be informed upon the conclusion of the inquiry.”
