Tacha, a former contestant on BBNaija, has voiced her strong opinion that Mirabel, the woman who made headlines after claiming she was raped in her home, should face the same level of punishment as a convicted rapist. This statement follows a viral video where Mirabel confessed on February 19 that her allegations were fabricated due to mental health struggles.
The shocking confession has sparked public outrage, with many Nigerians insisting that she should be prosecuted. Tacha took to her X account to advocate for Mirabel's punishment, saying it should reflect the severe consequences that would be imposed on a rapist if found guilty.
In her post, Tacha stated, "Now that it has been confirmed that Mirabel lied about the rape allegations, I expect the police and relevant authorities handling cases of rape and assault to ensure she is adequately penalized in accordance with the law. We exist in a cruel society where rapists and their sympathizers seek means to justify the abuse of women."
She further emphasized that it is vital to hold those who make false claims accountable to prevent them from undermining real victims of sexual violence.
Tacha elaborated in a follow-up video that false allegations only embolden those who excuse such behavior, discouraging actual victims from coming forward with their own stories. She remarked, "Rape is an extremely serious issue. Women must not wield rape allegations lightly or as a weapon against others. This ultimately detracts from authentic victims who deserve support and justice."
In her impassioned plea, she concluded, "By making false claims, we inadvertently strengthen the arguments of those who seek to dismiss true victims. We must not allow this to happen in our society."
