A woman in Texas, identified as Ashley Ketcherside and a mother of three, is facing charges for allegedly helping her husband manage a prostitution ring that reportedly catered to police officers. Her arrest follows that of her husband, who was taken into custody earlier for his alleged role in the operation.
Ketcherside was apprehended on Wednesday, April 15, on charges of racketeering. This development came after initial investigations into her husband's alleged illegal activities, which authorities claim had been ongoing for at least a decade from the couple's residence.
Authorities have reportedly uncovered evidence suggesting Ashley Ketcherside has prior convictions for prostitution and that she was involved in coaching other women to engage in sex work. Court documents indicate she allegedly charged clients up to $1,000 per hour for her services.
The couple allegedly hosted members of the Godley Police Department and their partners at their home, where the alleged ring was operated. Court filings suggest Ashley Ketcherside was actively involved in preparing women for prostitution during these gatherings.
Following her husband's arrest on April 8, Ashley Ketcherside had publicly stated her surprise and maintained her family's innocence. She described her husband as a good man and father and expressed faith in the justice system.
She has denied all accusations, including claims of accepting payment for sexual encounters from a former Godley police officer. However, she also commented that adults should have the freedom to engage in consensual activities as they see fit.
Despite her denials and claims of not being involved in prostitution, her history includes two previous convictions for such offenses. The investigation gained further traction when a former Godley police chief, Matthew Cantrell, reportedly implicated Ashley Ketcherside after his own arrest alongside another officer, Solomon Omotoya.
According to court documents, Cantrell revealed that Ashley charged $1,000 per hour for sexual services, information that was corroborated by messages found on a seized burner phone belonging to her. Both Omotoya and Cantrell are also facing charges related to the alleged sex ring.
Beyond the alleged prostitution ring, the individuals involved are also under scrutiny for potential corruption. A statement from the district attorney's office for Johnson and Somervell counties indicated that the Ketchersides and Cantrell may have gathered information on perceived adversaries, including members of the Godley City Council, the Godley ISD school board, and other local police officers.
Further complicating matters, Ashley Ketcherside was reportedly removed from a Godley ISD committee in 2023 that was responsible for the district's sex education curriculum. This decision was reportedly made after committee members became aware of her past prostitution convictions. Additionally, she is said to have maintained active advertisements on escort websites while volunteering with other community organizations.
Ashley Ketcherside is currently facing racketeering charges and is being held on a $200,000 bond. Her husband, Michael Ketcherside, faces charges including continuous promotion and solicitation of prostitution, as well as racketeering, with his bond set at $450,000. Matthew Cantrell has been charged with promotion of prostitution and has been released on bond, while Solomon Omotoya faces charges for soliciting prostitution.
