President Bola Tinubu has praised Sir Emeka Offor, a prominent oil tycoon, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, for the recent medical book distribution program organized by his foundation to bolster healthcare education in Nigeria.
This initiative, which was executed by the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation following a request from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, involved sourcing and shipping ten containers filled with medical and nursing books, as well as journals, from the United States to Nigeria.
According to a statement released on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, the President's Adviser on Information and Strategy, these books are set to be disseminated among tertiary medical institutions spread across Nigeria’s six geopolitical regions.
Tinubu remarked that this program is poised to greatly enhance both healthcare education and the academic capacity of the country's medical training institutions.
He emphasized that this effort highlights Offor’s dedication to advancing human capital development while strengthening the nation’s healthcare sector.
The President also extended his gratitude to the Chief Executive of Chrome Group for his unwavering support towards educational, health, and national development initiatives.
Tinubu encouraged Offor to persevere in his philanthropic endeavors and continue backing programs that aim to better society.
