Former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has stated that citizens across the country will be persuaded to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another term in office during the upcoming presidential vote.
Senator Yari underscored the dedication of the ruling party's campaign structure to winning over the voting populace for the administration's continuity. He made these remarks while interacting with reporters in Mecca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he joined the Nigerian leader and other notable figures to perform the Umrah, the Islamic lesser pilgrimage.
What did President Tinubu say about his re-election bid?
Reports indicate that during a media interaction in Saudi Arabia, President Tinubu expressed deep spiritual confidence regarding his prospects for a second term, stating that he places his ultimate trust in divine providence.
"I believe that Allah’s wish in His court must prevail. And there’s no other God but Allah. Allah is the only one who can define a human being, what he will be, and what he will become," the President had remarked.
How does the APC plan to secure victory?
Speaking further over the weekend, the campaign director-general maintained that the combination of the President's spiritual reliance, his administration's track record, and strategic public engagement would successfully sway voters.
"That’s what makes a leader, because when you ask him, he first prayed for the country, prayed for every Nigerian, and also said this election is an election in which God has selected the person who will be a leader, and only He can make someone a leader or otherwise," Yari explained.
He added that the campaign machinery relies on divine help just as it did during the 2023 polls, emphasizing that ongoing consultations, outreach programs, and the presentation of tangible achievements will convince the electorate to renew the mandate of the ruling party.
