Victoria Beckham Addresses Estrangement From Son Brooklyn Following His Outspoken Rant

Victoria Beckham has responded publicly for the first time after her son Brooklyn Beckham expressed his grievances about their relationship.

The former Spice Girl shared her thoughts during an interview with the Wall Street Journal, which was published on Thursday, April 16. She remarked that her husband, David Beckham, and she have always aimed to "protect and love" their four children while addressing the ongoing estrangement from their eldest son.

Victoria, 51, stated, "I think that we've always – we love our children so much," when inquired about Brooklyn, without mentioning his name directly. She added, "We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be."

Continuing her statement, she acknowledged, "And you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that's all I really want to say about it."

Victoria and David, who is 50, welcomed Brooklyn, now 27, in 1999. They also have three other children: sons Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, along with daughter Harper, who is 14.

Reports suggest that Brooklyn began to distance himself from the Beckham family after marrying actress and model Nicola Peltz, 31, in 2022. In a pointed Instagram post in January, he declared that he felt compelled to break his silence on their long-standing feud, stating he had "no choice" but to do so.

In that post, Brooklyn expressed, "I do not want to reconcile with my family," asserting, "I'm not being controlled; I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family."

He further elaborated, stating, "Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade."

Brooklyn indicated that the truth would eventually emerge, alleging that his parents sought to damage his relationship with Peltz prior to their wedding. He also made several serious claims against his family, including that his renowned parents manipulated media portrayals and pressured him regarding naming rights. Additionally, he accused Victoria of behaving "inappropriately" by interfering with what should have been his first dance with Peltz as a couple.
