Yusuf Buhari, the sole son of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has indicated his ambition to vie for a position in the House of Representatives during the 2027 electoral cycle.

The announcement of his political aspiration was made public by Bashir Ahmad, a former Presidential aide, through a post on the X platform yesterday evening.

Ahmad shared that after extensive consultations with various stakeholders, Yusuf Buhari has formally communicated his decision to seek the House of Representatives ticket for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua constituency. He plans to contest under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Former President Muhammadu Buhari served as Nigeria's leader from 2015 until his term concluded in 2023. He passed away on July 13, 2025.
