The Zamfara State Government has donated two newly rehabilitated vehicles to the Federal Road Safety Corps to enhance highway safety and emergency response across the state.

The Zamfara State Government has handed over two rehabilitated operational vehicles to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to boost highway monitoring and emergency intervention capabilities within the region.

Lawal Barau Bungudu, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, alongside the Acting Permanent Secretary, Engr. Amiru Musa Anka, and key personnel from the ministry's Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, spearheaded the handover ceremony.

How does this support security and emergency services?

During the presentation event, Engr. Amiru Musa Anka explained that the gesture underscores Governor Dauda Lawal's broader agenda to empower security and emergency response bodies through enhanced logistical support and improved operational readiness.

Anka further highlighted that the state's Ministry of Works and Infrastructure had recently restored 19 previously grounded vehicles for the Nigeria Immigration Service, alongside extending necessary assistance to the Nigerian Correctional Service.

What was the reaction of the FRSC?

Accepting the vehicles on behalf of the agency, the Zamfara State Sector Commander of the FRSC, CC Aliyu Mu’azu, expressed profound gratitude to the state administration for the timely intervention.

Mu’azu noted that the newly restored utility vehicles would significantly bolster the corps' field deployment, reduce response times during highway emergencies, and deepen traffic safety campaigns across major routes in the state.

This latest initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by the state authorities to strengthen institutional capacity among security and paramilitary formations operating within Zamfara State.
