Legal Expert: Peter Obi's Return to Labour Party Lacks Legal Foundation
Vincent Otaokpukpu, Director of the Legal Obedience Movement, has stated that Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed's suggestion for Peter Obi to rejoin the Labour Party is not legally viable due to current electoral laws in Nigeria. He explained that while freedom of association is a constitutional right, electoral regulations present practical challenges for such party switches, especially close to primaries.
