NCoS CG Reports 64% of Nigeria's Prison Population are Awaiting Trial
The Controller-General of the Nigeria Correctional Service disclosed that as of February 9, a significant portion of the inmate population, totaling 80,812, comprises 51,955 individuals awaiting trial, constituting 64% of the total. This raises serious concerns about overcrowding in the country's correctional facilities.
