The anticipation surrounding the 2026 AMVCA nominations has been met with excitement as the full list is finally available. This year's Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards nominations reflect the vibrant state of Nollywood, sparking discussions among fans and industry professionals alike.
Scheduled for May 2026 in Lagos, this year's ceremony will encompass a total of 32 categories, with 18 awards determined by a jury and 11 subject to public voting—allowing fans to have a voice in a substantial part of the awards process. Special recognitions include the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Trailblazer Award. Furthermore, the introduction of two new categories—Best Indigenous Language (North Africa) and Best Indigenous Language (Central Africa)—marks a significant expansion in acknowledging African narratives, enhancing the inclusivity of the AMVCAs.
