Mamman Daura, the vice-presidential flagbearer of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), has asserted that party presidential hopeful Seyi Makinde is better equipped for the 2027 election than any of his potential opponents. Daura made these remarks on Saturday in Abuja while hosting delegates from the Northern Patriotic Front (NPF) at the national campaign secretariat.
According to the APM politician, Makinde possesses the necessary political capital to succeed President Bola Tinubu when the current administration's tenure concludes in 2027. He maintained that the governor's profile towers above other prominent political figures expected to contest the ballot, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
"Makinde can beat Atiku, Peter Obi and any other candidates for the presidential race," Daura stated.
Why does the APM candidate back Makinde?
Daura pointed to several key attributes supporting his endorsement, emphasizing Makinde's track record in public office as a state governor, his relative youth, and his cross-regional acceptance spanning both the northern and southern parts of the country. He argued that these factors combine to make him the most formidable contender to steer the nation forward in the upcoming electoral cycle.
